Hello and welcome back to another Monday Memories, I hope you enjoy!
- Trip to Amsterdam
At the top of my list, is when I took a trip to Amsterdam to meet up with some friends from Furman who were there on spring break! It was only 35 hours total, but it was a ton of fun and great to catch up with my friends. We ate lots of great food, visited some amazing museums, and explored the beautiful city around us. My favorite part of the trip was definitely the boat tour we took around the canal, it was so so cold but we were able to see some really beautiful areas without having to walk! 10/10 would recommend visiting Amsterdam, but you should probably try to stay for more than 35 hours.

- Long Study Tour
Coming in at second place is my long study tour I took with my Holocaust and Genocide class to Warsaw and Krakow, Poland. We were there for about a week and it was definitely an amazing time. We learned so many new things about the subject and were able to see where history had taken place, it was a really insightful experience. We also had a great time just exploring Poland. Whether it was walking around the town square or trying pierogis for the first time, we always tried to see or try something new everyday. It was a great trip full of learning, exploring, and bonding with my classmates and professors!

- Getting my hair done
My third favorite memory is getting my hair done! Which I know sounds silly and not very exciting, but as a black woman living in a majority white country it’s been a little hard trying to find someone who would know how to do my hair. I was really nervous at the beginning of the semester that I wouldn’t be able to find a salon, but luckily a friend of mine was able to find a hair salon not too far away from my apartment that I could go to. It was a really good experience, and the stylist was really nice and had lots of questions about the USA. She was fast and did a great job on my hair, and I definitely feel more at ease now that I have somewhere I can go to for black hair care products and services if I need something else!
